For your vacation you can get on a plane and be at your destination in a matter of hours. But when you travel via Motorcycle you really get to the heart of where you're going. Turns out a Motorcycle is a way better way to see the world.

We have several large continents with lots and lots of roads. Those roadways provide access to popular tourist spots, charming towns, beautiful back-roads and hidden gems you won't see from the air.

Here's seven reasons why I think a Motorcycle Road Trip is the best way to travel and really get to know the country:

The world of motorcycling (aka Bikers) can be intimidating. And when we're intimidated, some people try too hard to fit in. So I'm here to stop you before going too far and you do a shameless Sons-of-Anarchy-makeover.

Once you've learned a bit about something, especially if it's something you're passionate about, it can be hard not to share your new-found knowledge with everyone. Bikes, Star Wars, credit scores, dieting, finance or even wine - the path from novice to snobbery is actually a pretty slippery slope.

If you've already caught yourself being a "big-bad-biker" with reckless abandon (or know someone who has), you should definitely keep reading- make sure you'll never be found guilty of these snob acts.*

*To keep things accurate, I've graded these acts on a level of 1 to 10 backfires (the universal biker symbol of snobbery).

"Being an owner means being responsible," is one of the things my Dad used to say, and it makes sense. As an owner you should be vigilant and watch for early warning signs to help prevent major disasters later on.

This is true no matter what it is you own! We vaccinate our animals to prevent them from getting sick. Having routine maintenance done on your house -cleaning the furnace, cleaning the gutters, fixing any leaky pipes, etc. Because by ignoring what your home needs will mean you’ll probably be spending some serious money for repairs, since the issue is now much bigger.

This also applies to Motorcycles. I asked Chad, our Service Manager at FX Caprara Harley-Davidson, what are the 3 things he wished Bikers would do for their bikes, and here's what he said:

One Elephant Journal article I read was titled 10 ways to Choose Happiness. (However I'm not a complete "hippie" because my first thought was, "One of them better involve riding a motorcycle!!")

And, while the author of that article didn't mention motorcycles in the article at all (how DARE they!), as it turns out all the bullet points can be achieved when you're a motorcyclist. Here, I'll show you:

To be sure Bikers know this since we often live in the present - we know that Life is short and we've got to get out to enjoy ourselves while we're here.

So it's with that in mind…

The world today... Viruses, terrorism, climate change and the stock market fluctuations to name just a few. And the media in all this, with their hype and conjectures certainly isn't helping anything.

There you are, just cruising along when all of a sudden you find yourself in a ditch. It's real easy to find yourself stuck there, with all the hate and anger at the situation, at everyone around you.
